A customer in Fultondale, Alabama, has shared a complaint about an alleged unpleasant experience at a local Pizza Hut, saying what began as a routine online food pickup ended with rude behavior and verbal insults from employees.
The account was shared by Carrie Marie in a Fultondale residents community group. According to her post, she has been visiting the Pizza Hut location for years and said she previously had no problems with the restaurant. She said her recent experience was very different and left her frustrated enough to report the matter to the company.
Customer Describes Uncomfortable Drive Thru Encounter
Marie said she placed an order online and went to the restaurant to pick it up through the drive-thru. While waiting at the window, she noticed another customer in front of her had pulled forward and parked.
According to Marie, she could hear an employee talking about the customer because the person had arrived about 30 minutes before the expected pickup time. Marie said the employee appeared upset about the customer arriving early.
She then waited at the window for approximately three or four minutes before an employee opened it. Marie said the employee did not greet her or provide any explanation and instead stared at her.
Marie said she gave the employee her name so the order could be located. She alleged that the employee then closed the window, returned with the food, and pushed it toward her before closing the window again.
Marie said she responded by thanking the employee and wishing her a good day. She described herself as someone who understands the challenges of restaurant work, noting that she has spent about 30 years working in restaurants herself.
However, she said she could not excuse what she described as unnecessary rudeness.
Customer Says Incident Was Reported to Corporate
Marie further alleged that the situation continued after she began driving away. She said another employee leaned out of the drive-thru window and repeatedly shouted an insulting statement toward her.
The customer said she was not looking for special treatment and described herself as generally laid back and understanding. Her concern, she explained, was the manner in which she said she was treated during the interaction.
Several people responding to the post encouraged Marie to contact management or report the employees. One commenter asked whether she had spoken with the manager, while others suggested that the restaurant’s drive-thru cameras could potentially help establish what happened.
Marie responded that she had already reported the incident to Pizza Hut’s corporate office shortly after leaving the location. She also indicated that the employees involved appeared to be among the only workers present at the time.
The discussion generated additional comments from residents, including one person who said they knew a manager at the restaurant. Marie clarified that she had chosen to contact corporate about the experience.
The allegations described in the community post have not been independently verified. There is also no indication in the available discussion of disciplinary action taken against the employees or a response from the restaurant regarding the customer’s complaint.
For Marie, the issue appears to center on customer service and professionalism. She said she had visited the Fultondale location for years without similar problems, making the recent encounter particularly disappointing.
The incident has prompted discussion among residents about how customer complaints should be handled and the importance of maintaining respectful communication between restaurant employees and customers.
