Panama City Braces for 9.5 Inches of Rain: Flash Flood Warning Issued for Panhandle

In Panama City, Florida, heavy rain is forecast for this weekend. The HRRR model shows that between 8 PM on Friday, October 2 and 8 PM on Sunday, October 4, there will be 6 to 12 inches of rain stretching from Panama City to Pensacola. Panama City may receive about 9.5 inches and East Pensacola Heights approximately 8.8 inches. It is advised that repeated tropical downpours may lead to flash flooding, since the rainfall amounts will be greater than expected and the water levels will rise rapidly.

Panama City Tops the Forecast

Panama City is due to receive approximately 9.5 inches of rain in two days and nearby areas including Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, Callaway, Mexico Beach, and Port St. Joe will also experience heavy rain.
