Do you know something about baking in a jar? Even I didn’t know that before. This kind of baking fruit is very healthy and great for your diet. Chow Tips presented this wonderful video about baking in a jar.
If you ask me I would use chia flour or coconut flour instead the wheat flour just to avoid eggs.
Also, I will swap sugar with honey and use coconut oil or grass-fed butter.
Extra topping with homemade natural coconut whipped cream will be perfect. Everybody likes things even healthier right?
Preparation:
You will need two and a half cups of fresh and nice seasonal fruit.
Put the fruits into 4 half-pint canning jars.
After you do that you need to combine one-half cup of sugar and the same amount of flour and add half a teaspoon of salt.
Mix the flour, sugar, and salt and pour them on the fresh fruits.
On the top of the fruits add butter.
When you fill the jars place them on a square baking dish.
To avoid your jars from sliding fill the dish with dried beans.
Put the baking dish in the oven at 350 F / 1 hour.
When you are finished let the jars cool down.
After this CHOW tips suggest you put whipped cream on top and if you like keep the jars in your fridge for a week.
They can be a great gift and of course, they can be wonderful for a picnic.
Even If seasonal fruits are highinn sugar which is a bad point they have many more good points. They contain high amounts of Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Also they are low in sodium. High levels of sodium can increase your blood volume and pressure and lead to a high risk of heart attack.
