- 3 cups icing sugar
- 2 vanilla beans (seeded) or 2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
- 1/3 cup butter, at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Using an electric mixer, on low speed, beat powdered sugar. Stir in 1 tablespoon of milk and vanilla. Continue to beat until you get a smooth and spreadable frosting:
- If frosting gets too thin, whisk in some more powdered sugar. If frosting is very thick, whisk in some more milk, a few drops at a time.
